The MBA Health and Hospital Management program provides expertise and training in management and administration and is of relevance for those working within the private and government sectors. The Health and Hospital Management program has an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to prepare graduates for providing the necessary expertise to manage health services most effectively.
The program is designed to develop technically competent and socially sensitive managers for leadership roles in hospitals, health systems management, pharmaceutical industries and population programs.

The MBA — Health Management (Health Policy and Planning, Hospital, Pharmaceutical and Population Management) sector program is designed to cater to the market demand for health managers, in the fields of preventive health, health policy and planning, hospital, pharmaceutical and population management.
Students graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in General Science, Pharmacy or Medicine and Surgery from the institutions of Pakistan lack management background as the present educational structure does not provide them with an option to blend management courses with their medical training.
The two year MBA – Health Management Program is designed in such a way that it provides students with ten Business Core Courses and an opportunity to select four / five Business Electives. The business core courses provide students with a sound management base, while The business base is complemented by four Core Health Management courses and six / seven Health Electives (amongst a choice of nineteen listed health electives). A supervised Research Project of three credit hours provides students with an opportunity to apply curricular concepts and skills to problems in an organizational setting.
The semester structure blends complementing management/health core and elective courses. This concentrated approach provides students with an opportunity to relate and draw parallels between health and business courses.
The Program
The two-year MBA – Health Management (Health Policy and
Planning, Hospital, Pharmaceutical and Population Management)
program is offered on weekends. A student studies 24 courses of 3 credit hours each in order to complete the degree requirements.
Student must maintain a 3.0 CGPA for the conferment of the degree.
The courses are divided into four modules:
1. Health Policy and Planning
2. Hospital Administration
3. Pharmaceutical Administration
4. Population Management
Students weak in English and Communication skills are required to take an additional “Business English”* course to enhance knowledge of the language.
During the final semester a course of “Interpersonal Communication Skills” is also offered. This prepares students for GMAT testing techniques and methods for improving their score.
