- ACCOUNTANCY
PROGRAM
The
Course is designed
for students preparing for Institute of Chartered
Accountants’ final exams and for practicing
accountants who have not acquired ICAP degree. The
Masters program requires completion of 75 semester
hours of course work, with 25 courses and a summer
internship in a firm approved by the College and a
comprehensive examination. Students must maintain a
3.0 GPA for conferment of the degree. The program is
designed for students with a background in commerce,
economics and accountancy.
Students can take a
minimum load of 12 credit hours (four courses) or a
maximum of eighteen credit hours (six courses) in a
regular semester (fall, spring).
The course is
also offered to executives. The minimum load
students can take is six credit hours (two courses),
the maximum load being twelve credit hours (four
courses) in each of the three sessions (fall,
spring, summer).
The MS (Accountancy)
curriculum is contemporary and comprehensive. The
program provides all the tools and techniques needed
for a successful career in accountancy and for
preparation for the Institute of Chartered
Accountancy professional examination.
Students weak in
English and Communication Skills are required to
take an additional "Business English" course to
enhance knowledge of the language.
During the final
semester a course called "Interpersonal
Communication Skills" is also offered. This course
prepares students for GMAT testing techniques and
methods for improving their score and saving time
when answering questions.
