STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Students’ Societies

There are twelve students’ societies: Marketing, Finance, IT, Strategic Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Economics, Maths and Statistics, Dialogue, TEC, Sports, Debating, and Entertainment and Publications. They actively participate in the organization of seminars and workshops. An executive lecture program, organized jointly by students and faculty, provides opportunities for exchange of ideas and opinions with leaders in business and government. Students participate in a number of national and local inter-college debates and win trophies. Students have organized successful cultural events such as dramas, ghazal singing competitions, milads and melas to promote the Institute. They have also participated in blood donation drives and collection of funds for handicapped students. IoBM students have been very active during the devastated earthquake of last year when they collected medicines and food items for the affected areas.

Sports Facilities

Sports play an important role in the development of one’s personality. IoBM’s cricket, football and table tennis teams have performed well in various tournaments and have brought laurels to the Institute. Our Cricket team toured South Africa in June 2006. A state of the art Students Activity Center is operational with dining facilities for 300 students, staff and faculty. A billiard room, table tennis, carom and chess room alongwith fully equipped gymnasium is also available for students and faculty. The facility also includes students and faculty lounges, girls common room and a book store.

Outdoor Basketball and Volleyball courts have also been constructed and are now ready for use. A fully air-conditioned Squash Court has also been constructed.

Dining Facilities

The Student Activity Center with fully equipped Dining Hall and Kitchen have been completed and is in operation since September 2003. There is a self serving Dining Hall which offers hot and cold meals at subsidized rates throughout the day. Lunch and snacks from international fast food chains can be enjoyed in a relaxing and informal atmosphere in the air conditioned dining hall. It is a place where
students get an opportunity to interact not only with their colleagues but also with the faculty on an informal basis.
