IoBM hosted its second Leadership Advisory Council on April 6, 2019, at Shahjehan S. Karim (SSK) Center for Excellence. The agenda of the meeting was to brief and discuss with the council the functions of ORIC & EMEC and current and future plans for industry-academia linkage of IoBM. Mr. Talib Karim chaired the meeting. He welcomed distinguished guests from the industry. In his opening remarks, he stressed the need for the industry-academia linkage and the benefits of such linkages. He thanked the participants for sparing time for the meeting. He briefed participants about the history of IoBM, its programs, faculty, students and the global alumni network.
After the participant’s introduction, Mr. Kamran Bilgrami presented the current and future plans of ORIC and EMEC. He briefed the council about the challenges of industry-academia linkage and how both can work together for the mutual benefits by overcoming these challenges. He presented plans of ORIC & EMEC to bring capacity building through open programs, client-specific programs, summer school, diploma and Post-Graduate Diploma Programs. He also briefed participants about the recent projects by IoBM with the industry and local and global collaborations for sector-specific programs.
