About

Abdullah Aziz is a Lecturer at the College of Engineering Sciences at the Institute of Business Management with over 9 years of industrial and academic experience combined. After graduating with Bachelor's in Mechanical he obtained a Master's in Thermal fluids with distinction for which he received President of Pakistan's Gold Medal.

His teaching assignments have been diverse throughout his career. He has taught core engineering courses such as Fluid Mechanics, Statics, and Heat Transfer and Management Courses such as Six Sigma, Operations Management, and Quantitative Methods in Supply Chain and Logistics. He also teaches mathematic courses such as Numerical Analysis, Differential Equations, and Business Mathematics.

He has published multiple peer-review impact factor articles. His research interests have two different streams: Engineering Stream which includes Fluid Mechanics, Robotics, and Heat Transfer, and Management Stream which includes Quality Assurance and Control, Location and Layout Strategies, and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). He has supervised 15+ undergraduate students in their final year projects and 5+ graduate students in their thesis dissertations. He is currently open for supervision in any of the above-mentioned research interests.

His rich experience of working as an engineer at a shipbuilding industry and at a refinery, traveling and living in different countries, working at both public and private sectors of the city, and liaison with various industries enables him to offer his services voluntarily as a career counselor to students of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities.

He actively gives back to the community through his volunteer work. He was an active member of the Pakistan Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) till 2020. He has also volunteered in the relief camps during the 2010 floods and recently help erect isolation camps for COVID-19 and managed humanitarian logistics for various NGOs. His current aim is to normalize transgenders within society.
