Dana Abu Shanab is an NU-Q alumna ‘19 who holds a BS in Communication. During her time as a student, she undertook a number of strategic communication courses, worked on a variety of health-related campaigns around Qatar Foundation, and was selected as students who traveled to London to investigate the media coverage of the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.
She recently interned at Qatar Foundation’s public relations department, working hand-in-hand with other external communication departments, creating social media content, and proposing stories to covers. Additionally, she researched and developed content about the speakers for the Education City Speaker Series, a platform for conversations with passionate thought leaders and changemakers from around the world.
In her current position, Abu Shanab collaborates with The Media Majlis and Business and Finance departments. This includes managing several Media Majlis accounts and supervising student employees at the Bookstore, a role with a particular personal connection due to her own experiences of being a Northwestern Wildcat.
