IoBM alumnus clears Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2019



Mr. Faraz Ali, an alumnus of IoBM has qualified all three stages (Screening Test, Written Exam and Viva Voce) of Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2019 conducted by Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC). He has been recommended for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) on the 14th merit number throughout Sindh (Result attached). Mr. Faraz completed his BBA (2011) and later his MBA (2012) from IoBM.

A brief profile of Mr. Faraz Ali is as below:

Mr. Faraz Ali hails from Larkana with humble family background. His father expired in 2000 and he remained under guardianship of his elder brothers. Passing through struggling phases, he managed to complete his higher secondary education from Larkana and come to Karachi for higher studies. He got admission at IoBM and studied BBA(H) and MBA with 100% scholarship at IoBM during the five years of his education. He always aspired to join civil services. Therefore, he diverted and invested all energies, during studies as well jobs, towards realization of his dream. Finally, he made to it with his recommendation for post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) under Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2019 conducted by Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC).

Key achievements:

a. Selected for admission to Ph.D Program in Business Administration at Okan University, Istanbul, Turkey.

b. Selected twice under 90% Overseas Scholarship Program (France and Mexico) by Higher Education Commission (HEC) for Masters leading to PhD.

c. Selected for Chinese Government Scholarship through a competitive process undertaken through Ministry of Interprovincial Coordination for Master’s Program under auspices of China Scholarship Council.

He did not avail himself of aforementioned scholarships in pursuit of his objective to join civil service through competitive examination due to age limitation for appearance in the exam.

1. Assistant Director under State Bank Officials Training Scheme (SBOTS) Batch-19.

2. Accounts Officer (SPS-8) in Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC).

3. Lecturer (Commerce) (BPS-17) recommended by Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) under Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh.

4. Junior Executive- Accounts (SPS-7) in Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC).

5. Assistant Air Traffic Control Officer (AATCO) in Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

6. Officer Grade-1 in Banking Services Corporation, State Bank of Pakistan.

Professional Experience in Government Services:

a. 1st Service: In Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) from 2013 to 2015 as Junior Executive-Accounts/Head of Accounts Department (SPS-7).

b. 2nd Service: In Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh as Lecturer (Commerce) in 2015.

c. 3rd Service: In the State Bank of Pakistan as Assistant Director under State Bank Officials Training Scheme (SBOTS) Batch 19 since 2015 and is currently serving there.

What next:

Recently allocated as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Home Department, Government of Sindh under Combined Competitive Examination(CCE) -2019. He intends to join the service.
