IoBM hosts Orientation session for Spring 2023 semester



The Orientation for the Spring 2023 semester at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) was held on Saturday, January 21, 2023. The Orientation session at IoBM was organized under the leadership of Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Director Administration, Admissions and Finance with close coordination of various departments including General Administration, Admissions, IT, Maintenance, Marketing, and Media. Mr. Imdad Mugheri, Manager Admissions, played a pivotal role, in managing the event, indeed.

IoBM's orientation for the Spring 2023 semester, the institution's commitment to quality education SDG 4: Quality Education by fostering an inclusive educational environment that promotes academic excellence, IoBM contributes to ending inequalities in education and ensuring that all students have access to lifelong learning opportunities. Additionally, the emphasis on collaboration among various departments and stakeholders during the orientation reflects a broader commitment to building partnerships that can enhance educational outcomes and community engagement, vital for achieving the SDGs.

The Master of Ceremonies was Ms. Juveria Baig, HoD Internship and Placement Department, IoBM. Huzaifa Abdul Rehman, IoBM student recited the verses of the Holy Quran. Gracing the event with their presence were IoBM’s Rector, Deans, Heads of Departments, Senior Managers, Faculty, Management and Staff.

Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Acting Rector, IoBM shared key policy points that the new students should adhere to during their stay at IoBM. Dr. Soomro’s detailed presentation included points about Campus Life (continuous assessment system, academic counseling, attendance, code of conduct, student societies, social media policies), Semester System and Credit Hours (Catalog, Academic Calendar, CPGA), and information about Departments (Academics, Transport, Finance, IT, Security, Scholarships, Internship and Placement).

Earlier, during the Welcome Address, Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM, acknowledged the contributions of IoBM’s Late Founding President, Mr. Shahjehan S. Karim for envisioning to establish IoBM as an institute of higher learning in Pakistan. Dr. Mubarik advised students to inculcate the habit of reading to broaden their minds so they can equip themselves with insights and information.
While sharing the alumni experience, Ms. Areeba Raza, (Class of 2022) Management Trainee Officer, Shan Foods said she feels privileged to be standing in front of the graduate class of 2025. She shared her academic journey at IoBM and how the Institute helped her in developing her personality and acumen to achieve challenges in her personal and professional life. “Embrace learning, remain humble, do a lot of networking,” Ms. Areeba said.
