IoBM hosted the Fall 2023 Semester Orientation on Saturday, September 2, 2023.
This program was held under the guidance of Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, IoBM. IoBM's departments including Admissions, General Administration, IT, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security, Media, and MARCOM, worked in unison under Ms. Sabina Mohsin’s leadership to make the event a success. The program was well-coordinated by the Admissions Department, IoBM with Mr. Imdad Ali Mugheri, Manager and HoD, and his team.
Ms. Juveria Baig, HoD Internship, Placement & International Office, IoBM, was the Master of Ceremony. Rashid-ul-Haq Zahid, the newly admitted MBA student, recited verses from the Holy Quran. Ms. Juveria delivered the translation.
Earlier, during his address, Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM advised newly admitted students to follow the rules as prescribed to them. He said that the youth of Pakistan is the biggest asset for this country. “You have to take this country forward and contribute positively,” he added. Mr. Talib Karim said that once a student is admitted, IoBM is responsible for taking care of their finances if they are unable to meet the requirements. This was the motto of our Late Founder President, Shahjehan S. Karim. Mr. Talib Karim shared three pieces of advice. First, respect your country; second, respect your parents, and third, respect your faculty. He added that the students after graduating from IoBM will be an asset to the corporate sector and the country.
During his Welcome Address, Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM said that the students are now a part of an active and vibrant learning community called IoBM. He paid a heartfelt tribute to IoBM’s Late Founder Presiden, who established his idea of IoBM in 1995. During his presentation, Dr. Mubarik shared important points regarding the students’ campus life and academic activities including Continuous Assessment System, Academic Counseling, etc. He advised students to plan studies based on the Catalog, follow the Academic Calendar, and abide by the rules for maintaining CGPA. He advised students to be open to new ideas, be consistent in their endeavors, and never stop the opportunity to learn. While presenting an overview of the Student Societies, Ms. Juveria shared milestones achieved by IoBM students in various sports tournaments at the national and international levels.
Syeda Rabiya Ghazanfar, an IoBM alumna, shared her experience with the new students. She said that she sees a spark and yearning among the new students that will make their dreams come true. Rabiya, who is serving as a Marketing/Research Analyst at Liberty City Ventures, highlighted how the state-of-the-art campus life, a well-stocked library, and an experiential learning classroom format will expand the horizons of the new students.
