Orientation session: Teaching & Learning Course for Faculty



The Institute of Business Management (IoBM), in pursuit of its Academic Excellence framework, has announced a Teaching and Learning course. This 8-week course is designed to enhance the pedagogical skills of IoBM's faculty members. The orientation session for this course was held on Monday, June 05, 2023 at EMEC, IoBM. The course will be led by IoBM’s Mr. Javaid Ahmed, Advisor to the President and Sr. Fellow Strategy & Innovation; Dr. Muhammad Arif, Director Research; and Dr. Afaq Kazi, Associate Professor. Dr. Tariq Soomro, Acting Rector, IoBM and Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM, IoBM will also be delivering lectures during this course.  

The course will adopt a flipped classroom approach, integrating both online and face-to-face debrief sessions to provide a comprehensive learning experience. During this course, participants will have access to relevant reading material and content at the beginning of each week. This will allow them time to review and develop a deep understanding of the topics covered. The online component will be facilitated through IoBM's Learning Management System (LMS), enabling convenient access to course materials and resources. 

The Teaching and Learning course at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) aligns particularly SDG 4: Quality Education. By enhancing pedagogical skills through innovative approaches like the flipped classroom model, this course promotes inclusive and equitable quality education and fosters lifelong learning opportunities. Furthermore, it emphasizes collaboration among faculty, which supports partnerships that are essential for achieving the SDG 4. This initiative exemplifies the role of educational institutions in developing the next generation of leaders who are equipped to address global challenges and contribute to sustainable development.
