Institute of Business Management’s Student Societies, Social Welfare and Trust (SWAT), the Strategic Human Resource Society (SHRS) and CBM Society of Health Managers (CSHM) organized a blood donation camp on Tuesday, October 01, 2019. This was held at the basement of the Shahjehan S. Karim Center of Excellence (SSK) IoBM. The Institute collaborated with Fatmid Foundation Blood Bank, National Institute of Blood Disease & Bone Marrow Transplantation and Indus Hospital to organize this event. The tagline of this year’s blood donation drive was “Give the gift of life.” The total unit of blood collected during this activity was 266. The blood collected by Indus Hospital was 108 units; Fatmid Foundation Blood Bank was 75 units and NIBD collected 82 units.
Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, Administration, Admissions and Finance graced this event with her inspiring presence. Riaz Akbar Contractor, Proctor and Manager, Sports and Student Affairs, along with office bearers of SWAT, SHRS and CSHM played an instrumental part in making this event possible. This blood camp was attended by IoBM management, faculty, students and staff.
IoBM’s SHRS, SWAT and CSHM has been actively holding blood drives on campus for over three years. The purpose is to collect blood for those patients who are in need of immediate blood transfusion. This also raises awareness about blood donation and how it helps the society. The student societies at IoBM are hopeful to keep organizing such activities in the future.
