The MBA Health Management (MHM) program is geared to professionals who aspire to be health care managers. This is a specialized program that amalgamates management skills and knowledge of economics, finance, statistics, and epidemiology and health policy, relevant to those working within the private and government sectors. The program has an integrated and multidisciplinary approach in preparing graduates for the provision of necessary expertise to manage health services most effectively and develop technically competent and socially sensitive managers for leadership roles in hospitals, health systems management, pharmaceutical industries and population programs The MHM department and CSHM take pride in its tradition of putting a great show in the form health management convention twice a year. As part of our experiential learning commitment, health convention is organized to showcase the students’ research-based term projects in the form of posters. This year the convention was conducted on 17 August 2019.
The theme was Healthcare Innovation and Creativity. The mega event included posters highlighting diverse issues of the healthcare industry at large. The Hod Dr. Asima Faisal appreciated the creativity of students and encouraged them. The event is attended by immense presence from both academia and industry and received exemplary commendations Present at the moment were renowned and acclaimed personalities boasting from academia and the industry like Ali Masood GM, ICI Pakistan, MHM gold medalist Fakiha Rasheed working as a procurement specialist for world bank., Asma Amjad Manager regulatory affairs, Hilton pharma. The guests not only evaluated the students but also encouraged and provided their expert opinion and valuable suggestions.
Dr. Asima Faisal also discussed that Health care organizations are becoming complex and constantly evolving. The ongoing paradigm shifts of global competitiveness, environmental changes, health regulations, patient-provider interaction, health human resource training and development needs and more rapid medical and technological innovations are transforming health management organizations. This event is designed to cater for such issues keeping in mind the very needs of the industry providing a powerful platform of representatives from a consortium of hospitals, pharmaceuticals, NGOs, allied health care organization, health care academic institutions, national and international health care bodies, etc.
