The Global Entrepreneurship Education Meeting (GEEM) 2025, held from October 21–24, 2025, in Tangerang, Indonesia, brought together 150 delegates from 23 countries united by one purpose — to reimagine how the world teaches and practices entrepreneurship.
Hosted by Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN)—ranked #78 in the Asian University Rankings (Southeast Asia 2025)—and Sociopreneur Indonesia, the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) National Chapter for Indonesia, GEEM served as a global platform to inspire collaboration and action toward a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future through entrepreneurship education.
Representing Pakistan and IoBM, Mr. Raza Abbas, Head of Incubation at the Shahjehan Syed Karim Incubation Center (SSKIC-IoBM) and Head of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (Pakistan Chapter), played an active leadership role throughout the event. He facilitated a powerful opening-day workshop titled “Cultivating Hope – Entrepreneurial Agility,” which received overwhelming feedback from participants worldwide. Ms. Claire, a renowned youth futurist, reflected: “Raza Abbas’s session shifted my entire perspective. Hope isn’t just a feeling—it’s a powerful tool for entrepreneurs that fuels curiosity, optimism, and resilience. Every entrepreneurship curriculum should include this.”
During the UNESCO EE-Net National Chapters Working Session, Mr. Abbas shared Pakistan’s key achievements in advancing entrepreneurship education. He highlighted IoBM’s institutional commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset through its degree programs and the inclusive, tech-driven initiatives of SSKIC.
He also contributed to the panel discussion on “National Chapters in Action: Building Sustainable Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystems through UNESCO EE-Net,” and moderated a global dialogue on “Translating Academic Research into Entrepreneurship Education Practice,” featuring distinguished speakers from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
A key outcome of GEEM 2025 was the signing of a Letter of Intent between IoBM and UMN Indonesia, represented by Dr. Andrey Andoko, Rector of UMN. The collaboration will encompass student exchanges, start-up opportunities, faculty and staff mobility, joint research, and academic events. In a major milestone for regional collaboration, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka agreed to jointly launch the Train-the-Educators Program, marking a concrete step forward in cross-country entrepreneurial education partnerships.
GEEM 2025 reaffirmed that when educators, innovators, and institutions collaborate across borders, they ignite the collective hope and creativity needed to shape the future of entrepreneurship education. As GEEM envisions “The future of education belongs to those who create, care, and choose to start again.”
