IoBM Students Explore Real-World Logistics Operations at APL Logistics

On Wednesday, 1st October 2025, students from IoBM’s Operations, Environmental, and Supply Chain Management programs visited APL Logistics, where they gained first-hand exposure to large-scale industrial operations and valuable professional insights. The educational tour was coordinated by Hafiz Muhammad Ahmed Siddiqui, ensuring a well-organized and impactful learning experience.

The students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Bilal (HR) and Mr. Malik and Mr. Zafar from the Operations Team, whose hospitality and informative discussions provided deep insights into modern supply chain practices.

APL Logistics, a global supply chain specialist and part of the KWE Group, provides integrated, end-to-end logistics solutions for industries such as automotive, consumer, and industrial goods. Its services include freight management, customs brokerage, warehousing, and distribution—supported by advanced technology for real-time visibility and operational control. The company focuses on building long-term partnerships and delivering customized solutions to help businesses optimize their supply chains and address complex logistical challenges.

The primary objective of the visit was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial practice by exposing students to real-world supply chain operations. They observed how warehousing, transportation, and inventory management are executed in a large-scale logistics setup, gaining insights into customer service, compliance, and safety standards. The visit also allowed students to interact with industry professionals, ask career-related questions, and connect theoretical knowledge with practical processes.

The experience strengthened students’ problem-solving and analytical skills through live operational examples, broadening their professional outlook and preparing them for future roles in the logistics and supply chain sector.

Overall, the visit to APL Logistics proved to be an enriching learning experience that deepened students’ understanding of global logistics systems and highlighted their critical role in business success.
