IoBM marks Mental Health Day with Seminars and Engaging Activities



The Department of Psychology, College of Economics and Social Development (CESD), at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) organized a series of seminars and interactive activities on Thursday, October 9, 2025, to commemorate Mental Health Day.

Held in collaboration with IoBM’s Wellness Centre and the Egalitarian Society, the event brought together leading health practitioners who highlighted the importance of prioritizing mental well-being and encouraged participants to actively monitor their emotional and psychological health. Present at the event were Dr. Nadia Ayub, Dean CESD, IoBM; Dr. Sana Sadia, HoD Department of Psychology, IoBM along with the Institute's HoDs, faculty members, and students.

The event featured engaging sessions by Dr. Zeenat Pasha, Mental Health Counselor; Dr. Shahid Latif, Consultant Psychiatrist, Chair RCPsych Trent Division, and Chair of the British Pakistani Psychiatrist Association; and Dr. Hina Anis, Holistic Nutritionist and Founder of Wellness Concepts. Their talks covered diverse perspectives on building mental resilience and emotional strength.

Dr. Zeenat Pasha presented “Rewiring the Resilient Mind: A Clinical Guide to Overcoming Adversity”, Dr. Shahid Latif discussed “Well-being and Resilience in the Age of Social Media”, and Dr. Hina Anis spoke on “Building Resilience Through Nutrition in the Age of Social Media.”

The speakers shared their professional insights on coping with modern mental health challenges and the role of lifestyle, mindset, and social influences in shaping emotional balance. The seminars aimed to foster awareness, promote open dialogue, and strengthen a culture of psychological well-being within the IoBM community. Students and faculty also participated in interactive activities that encouraged mindfulness, empathy, and stress management.

The event provided valuable takeaways on maintaining mental resilience and supporting mental health initiatives both on and off campus. The Mental Health Day Celebration served as a meaningful reminder of IoBM’s commitment to holistic education—nurturing not only intellectual growth but also emotional well-being in an increasingly fast-paced world.
