“JOURNEY TO LIGHT”

The Dialogue Society of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) conducted a guest speaker session, “Journey to Light”, amid the guidance of faculty advisor, Mr. Asad Shahzad, Assistant Professor, Islamic Studies / Philosophy Unit Department.

Invited to speak was Mr. Raja Zia-ul-Haq to IoBM students and faculty at the IoBM auditorium on November 23, 2017. Dialogue society organized this event to help discover how life is a journey of finding power, dignity and yourself.

Mr. Raja Zia ul Haq is currrntly the CEO of a not-for-profit, youth-focused organization called ‘Youth Club’. During his talk, Mr. Raja Zia-ul-Haq shared his personal experiences and struggles during his journey in understanding the broader and deeper meaning of Islam. Prior to the guest speaker session, the Dialogue Society of IoBM in collaboration with the Youth Club conducted a theatrical play, KIRDAAR. This play emphasized the harsh realities of life that befalls on us. Also present at the occasion were office bearers of the Dialogue Society including its President, Arusa Fatima Jamil.

Mr. Raja Zia ul Haq is a prominent lecturer from Islamabad, delivering talks and workshops on youth-related issues, life and purpose. He completed his BSc. (Hons) in Computing from the University of Portsmouth, UK and his Masters in IT from the University of Canberra, Australia. He is well-traveled and has over 10 years of professional work experience in Sales and Marketing for IT, Media and Telecom industry sectors. For the last few years, he has settled back in Pakistan and has been a lecturer at several universities across Islamabad and Rawalpindi and in different cities of Pakistan.
