IoBM and Wavetec signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, June 08, 2023, at IoBM in an attempt to strengthen academia-industry linkages. The signatories of this MoU were Dr. Tariq Soomro, Acting Rector representing IoBM, and Mr. Arshad Alam, Head of Training and Development representing Wavetec. IoBM and Wavetec believe that their collaboration will benefit the students at IoBM by enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Present on the occasion were IoBM's Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM; Brig. Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Associate Dean, CCSIS; Ms. Juveria Baig, HoD Internship and Placement; Mr. Raza Abbas, HoD Incubation Center; Syed Faraz Ali, Manager ORIC; Mr. Abdul Khaliq, Assistant Manager, Internship and Placement. Representing Wavetec were Ms. Hafsa Khan, Head of Marketing; Ms. Anjana Dheeraj, HRBP; Ms. Aqsa Shehzad, AM - HR Ops; Ms. Zoya Mujahid, HR Executive; and Mr. Suleyman Ahmed, HR Executive.
Wavetec, a multinational technology company offering solutions to various industries, will collaborate with IoBM by offering opportunities such as the Management Trainee Officer (MTO) program to IoBM students, sharing job openings and details, participating in IoBM career fairs, contributing as guest speakers, engaging in social projects, and providing career counseling to students, among other initiatives. IoBM will actively contribute by sharing Wavetec's job advertisements with its fraternity/groups, organizing career counseling sessions on its campus, providing customized learning opportunities to Wavetec staff, and fostering connections with IoBM alumni, among other efforts. The IoBM-Wavetec partnership is a shared commitment to empower students and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
Based on the strategic partnership between IoBM and Wavetec, this collaboration directly fosters several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Following are the SDGs targeted through collaboration includes:
