Sharing how Noman Shaheer, graduate of IoBM, Karachi and currently a PhD (ABD) in international business (IB) at Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, was awarded with 2017 Alan M. Rugman most promising scholar/young scholar award by the most prestigious forum of international business scholars, Academy of International Business (AIB). It is for the first time a Pakistani citizen has been globally recognized through this prestigious award. Mr. Muhammad Ahmed Abdul Rauf Essa, CEO, Telemart, and an IoBM alumnus has achieved double milestones in his career. First, he has been honored by the CEO World Awards to become one of the 20 judges at the “CEO World Awards 2017” in San Francisco, USA on June 26, 2017. Mr. Essa also won “Retail Entrepreneur of the Year Award at CEO World Award 2016” and “Acquisition Finance Magazine (ACQ) Global Award 2016 for Game Changer of the Year” while Telemart was awarded “ACQ Global Award 2016 for Online Retail Company of the Year” and “Emerging Brand of the Year Award 2015-16 for Online Shopping in Pakistan”. Mr. Ahmed Rauf Essa was a Bronze Stevie Winner in the Executive of the Year category of the International Business Awards (IBA) on the eve of our Independence Day. IoBM Futsal Team ‘A’ won the Bahria University Futsal Championship 2017 by defeating Kazimabad Football Club, Malir by 4 – 2 goals. A total of 32 Futsal Teams (University and Club teams) participated in the Tournament. Commodore Moshin Hayat, Director Bahria University, Karachi Campus distributed Trophies and cash prizes to the finalists.
Yusra Shaheen, a student of MBA Educational Management program, IoBM was a distinguished representative from Pakistan to the University Familiarization Program hosted by “INTI International University”, Malaysia, located in five cities: Kuala Lumpur, Subang, Nilai, Penang and Sabah. The five-day trip was well-attended by 7 Career Counselors from Pakistan; 2 counselors from Karachi including Yusra Shaheen, IoBM, 3 counselors from Lahore and 2 from Islamabad. Participants visited the campuses of INTI International University, met admission officers and Head of Departments for the better understanding of their education system and to exchange ideas of mutual interest.
