IoBM student wins “1st University Mock Trading Competition”

Muhammad Ahmed Kanani, a BS-Joint Honors student at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) achieved first position at the “1st Inter University Mock Trading Competition” conducted in collaboration with Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and JamaPunji, an education portal of the SECP. After successfully completing the first round of this competition, Muhammad Ahmed Kanani participated in the second round which facilitated students by providing them with a highly learning experience, giving them access to the real capital market trading screen and Rs. 5 million worth of Virtual Money to spend during the competition.

Muhammad Ahmed Kanani attained first position in this Trading Competition which saw the participation of as many as 250 students competing from various universities across Pakistan. Before participating in this competition, he was a rookie in the world of stock exchange and other individual trading platforms. After his participation in this competition, he feels this platform was sufficient for an individual to acquire awareness and hands-on experience of how the stock market functions. Muhammad Ahmed Kanani expressed his gratitude to his supportive faculty, especially Ms. Tazeen Arsalan and Mr. Arsalan Wasti for providing him with pertinent insights and guidance regarding trading and for introducing him to this Inter University Mock Trading Competition.
