Italy and IoBM go together

Towards a rejuvenating Italian experience

When Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM, highlighted the value of faculty guiding students of our Exchange Programs with foreign universities, and accompanying them on such visits, it is instrumentally the role of Ms. Maria Paola that made Italian language look so easy, interesting and grade-earning that inspires and motivates students to opt for Italian and explore opportunities visiting Italy to study and for tourism.

Ms. Anna Ruffino, Consul General of Italy visited the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) on Tuesday, March 06, 2018. She was received by Mr. Talib Karim, President, IoBM before taking part in an interactive session at the Entrepreneurship and Management Excellence Centre (EMEC). Present on this occasion were Dr. Ejaz Ahmed, Rector IoBM; Dr. Khalid Amin, Senior Manager and HoD, Alumni, Placements and International Cooperation; Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean CBM and CES; Dr. Asima Faisal, HoD, Health and Hospital Management Department; Dr. Mehvish Saleem, HoD Communication Department; Ms. Maria Paola, Italian language teacher; Ms. Misbah Iqbal; Senior Lecturer and Coordinator, BS – Social Entrepreneurship and Social Leadership, Accounting and Finance Department, Mr. Nabhan Karim, Lecturer and Head of Media Productions, Media Studies Department and Mr. Riaz Akbar Contractor, Proctor and Manager Sports and Students Affairs.

Ms. Anna Ruffino charmed at the very onset of her speech: “Meray pyaray doston, Assalaam o Alaikum, Mujhay Karachi bahut pasand hai”. She dispelled all security doubts and apprehensions and preferred to be Consul General in Karachi, Pakistan, a land she believed as full of promise and potential for mutual cooperation between Italy and Pakistan. Mr. Talib Karim said that previous Italian Consul General collaborated with IoBM on teaching Italian language and focused fostering Student Exchange Programs. He fully believed that Ms. Anna Ruffino will further enhance Italy-Pakistan relationship in this regard.

Dr. Khalid Amin informed IoBM and Florence University has Student Exchange Program each semester, exempt of tuition fee, which, Mr. Talib Karim said, caters to Masters Level students in Economics. Mr. Talib Karim inquired, with positive response, whether Undergraduate Level Exchange Programs in business management and other allied disciplines, including media studies students with pertinent academic background and cravings for cinema and film-making are also considered, so that especially those studying Italian language are also benefited from the rejuvenating Italian experience indeed. Ms. Misbah Iqbal proposed Student Exchange for IoBM BS-Social Entrepreneurship and Social Leadership program.

Students opined they took Italian language as they found it easy and interesting, provided opportunities to learn other similar languages like Spanish and for their desire to visit Italy to study, for tourism and to learn about its great history, arts, sports and culture and to enjoy its scenic and spellbinding beauty. Amid a consensus of opinion of IoBM President, Italian CG, HoDs, faculty and students, it was opined that Italy and Pakistan have mutual friendliness, social and cultural similarities, harmony of food delicacies, mutual natural landscape and beauty to share, all opening avenues towards an even better and brighter mutual relationship.
