Amid IoBM traditional hospitality, graceful ambiance and presentation, IoBM’s grand finale of the NBEAC’s 5thDeans and Directors Conference’s dinner and entertainment evening was a model of timely precision, thought-provoking speeches, sumptuous cuisine, enthralling atmosphere and refreshing music. Exemplary precision was witnessed during IoBM President Mr. Talib Karim’s two minutes of a truly heartwarming and hospitable welcome address indeed. He thanked distinguished guests, especially, Mr. Bashir Janmohammed, Chancellor, IoBM and a renowned business and corporate figure, for their kind and inspiring presence on this occasion.
Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, Chairman NBEAC, Founding Rector of University of Management and Technology, and currently serving as Chairperson Board of Governors, UMT Lahore, complimented and synchronized the vision and mission of IoBM with an illustrious family amid the awe-inspiring guidance and initiative of its Founder President Late Shahjehan Syed Karim. He said that while educational and professional research remains of vital importance, there is no substitute for face-to-face conversation towards mutually beneficial academic and corporate excellence. It is this instrumental drive for sharing ideas, insights and initiatives that is the key to this rewarding bilateral relationship.
Mr. Khalid Awan, Co-Founder and Chairman, TCS, while speaking on “Thoughts on Creating Impact through CPEC” emphasized the need for initial business planning of five to ten years especially with reference to CPEC and its impact on business schools. It is a question of changing mindsets, he asserted, that how professional education needs to be revolved around the core CEPC objectives of a logistics corridor, Gwadar as the key port, establishing industrial zones and power generation. It has to be envisioned and practiced how professional and business education should be in conformity with the CPEC objectives.
Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean CBM and CES, while delivering the “Thank You Note” said that IoBM was honored and privileged to have this distinguished academic and corporate gathering and reiterated the need for inter-university linkages, corporate interaction, pertinent software and hardware skills to leverage the massive CPEC infrastructure and its incalculable socio-economic benefits for Pakistan and for CPEC beneficiaries of 50 to 60 countries and beyond!
