The Communication Department proudly hosted its inaugural persuasive business presentation competition “Present to Change: CBM’s Emerging Voice of Leadership” on Monday, 5th May. The event proved to be a resounding success in both participation and impact. Our Business Speech faculty handpicked the highest scoring students from different sections of the Business and Professional Speech course to participate in this event, each of whom showcased their ability to craft and deliver compelling business notions. Through this competition, students demonstrated strong persuasive communication, critical thinking, and professional presentation skills - key assets in today’s competitive business environment.
The event was conceptualized, organized and hosted by Nida Zehra Abbas, brought to execution with the support and encouragement of our Head of Department, Dr. Aliya Sikandar. Faculty judges comprising Ali, Sharmain Ammad, Mariyam Rehan and Bilqees Anwar evaluated and highly acknowledged the quality, creativity, and clarity of the presentations, while students expressed high enthusiasm and a sense of accomplishment from the experience.

Given the overwhelmingly positive response and the clear educational value, the department is excited to announce that this competition will now be held every semester. By making it a recurring event, we aim to cultivate a lasting culture of excellence in public speaking and business communication. This initiative reflects the Communication department’s commitment to enhancing students’ real-world communication skills and preparing them for successful professional careers.
