Mr. Lars Bergmeyer, Director of DAAD (German Academic Exchange Program), provided pertinent information to IoBM students on “Study and Scholarship Prospects in Germany and Application Procedure”.
He was invited by Dr. Khalid Amin, HoD, International Cooperation, Placement and Alumni, IoBM. This program was organized at the EMEC at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Dr. Khalid Amin introduced the distinguished guest, based at DAAD Islamabad, who had also visited IoBM earlier for concerned interaction with students, faculty and management.
Mr. Lars Bergmeyer highlighted such reasons for studying in Germany as it is not commercialized and without tuition fee in most cases, it has a strong economy, it is one of the largest exporters of the world, German universities are multicultural in nature and offer full range of internationally accredited courses. He said that Germany has different philosophy and that Germany believes in innovation from KG to PhD and beyond. Among visa requirements for studying in Germany is a harmonious blend of good grades, health insurance, language proficiency, 8,640 Euro per year evidence to survive for a year.
He added that scholarships are offered for PhD and post doctoral programs, Masters Programs in Public Policy and Good Governance, Development Studies, a small enterprise promotion and training course and a host of full range of internationally accredited programs and courses of study and research. Later Mr. Lars Bergmeyer addressed queries from students on study and scholarship prospects in Germany and handed over a booklet titled “Study and Research in Germany – Annotated Weblinks” and a brochure titled “Study and Research in Germany – from DAAD Information Center, Islamabad.
