Society of Eglence and Technology (SET) and College of Engineering Sciences, Institute of Business Management (IoBM) held the inaugural ceremony of “WHY-PHY 2.0” at the IoBM Auditorium on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
Society of Eglence and Technology (SET) and College of Engineering Sciences, Institute of Business Management (IoBM) held the inaugural ceremony of “WHY-PHY 2.0” at the IoBM Auditorium on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
This event was organized amid the guidance of Ms. Seema Ansari, Advisor SET and HoD Electrical Engineering Department. Besides the inspiring presence of Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM and Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean CBM and CES, IoBM, the event was attended by students, SET members and faculty.
“Why-Phy 2.0” is a two-day event where engineering students from IoBM along with students from other universities will participate in various competitions. Universities taking part in Why-Phy 2.0 include DHA Suffa University, PAF KIET, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology and National University of Science and Technology (NUST)
During his speech, Mr. Talib Karim welcomed the participating students from various engineering universities of Karachi to IoBM. He especially mentioned the efforts undertaken by Ms. Seema Ansari in taking up the challenge of adding value to the engineering program IoBM is offering. Mr. Talib Karim shared that our Late Founder President, Mr. Shahjehan S. Karim envisioned IoBM offer engineering courses alongside courses of business and allied disciplines.
During his welcome speech, Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder congratulated the College of Engineering Sciences on holding the second edition of “Why-Phy” and emphasized upon students of CES to understand the concepts and apply them in real life so to create a meaningful association with what they have learned in class and how they can benefit the society.
Ms. Seema Ansari, while speaking to the audience, declared “Why-Phy 2.0” open and thanked Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, Administration, Admissions and Finance in becoming a source of guidance for SET. Ms. Seema also acknowledged hard work of SET members in organizing this event at a short notice.
Events scheduled to take place at Why-Phy 2.0 include Counter Strike 1.6, FIFA 18, ROBO WARS, ROBO RACE, Circuit Designing Competition, Speed Programming Competition and Spelling Bee.
