IoBM is known to be concerned about the professional development of faculty and management staff and has accordingly provided different platforms for in-house training. An initiative of this kind was recently taken by Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, Executive Director, Administration, Admissions and Finance. The purpose was to improve the English communication skills of employees of the levels of Senior Assistant Manager and Assistant Manager, bearing in mind that they would be called on to play a bigger role in the future. It is relevant that our late Founder President, Mr. Shahjehan S. Karim was similarly concerned about the need to improve English communication skills among our employees.
To address the matter, it was decided that an appropriate training program be designed for the concerned employees. Dr. Adrian A. Hussain, Senior Fellow, PhD in English literature from England was duly assigned the task of conducting English conversation classes, for a period of six months, for a group of IoBM employees. The training program commenced in April and was successfully completed in October 2017. The classes were held twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays and the duration of each class was one and a half hours.
On completion of the training program, “English Conversational Classes” a certificate distribution ceremony was held at the EMEC Conference Room on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Certificates were distributed to all participants of this training program by Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM and Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, Administration, Admissions and Finance. Also present on this occasion were Dr. Ejaz Ahmed, Rector IoBM and Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean, CBM and CES, IoBM along with course instructor, Dr. Adrian A. Husain.
