CICIR delegation visits IoBM



A five-member Chinese delegation representing China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Beijing visited IoBM, courtesy Karachi Council of Foreign Relations (KCFR) for an informal session on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) at the EMEC, IoBM on Saturday, April 23, 2016. IoBM President Mr. Shahjehan S. Karim, HoDs and faculty members of IoBM attended this session.

IoBM Rector, Mr. Talib Karim received the CICIR delegation, accompanied by KCFR Secretary General, Ahsan Mukhtar Zubairi, and other KCFR officials. Mr. Talib Karim mentioned three areas for cooperation between IoBM and CICIR: CPEC, Research, and Consultancy. He said that IoBM is looking forward to signing an MoU with CPEC in this regard. The Chinese guests were also informed that as many as 80 students were learning the Chinese language at IoBM.

Mr. Fu Mengzi, Vice President of CICIR, informed that CICIR is pursuing academic cooperation with many countries of the world in such fields as politics, economy, military, diplomacy, ethnic problems, and terrorism etc. He added that post-graduate studies were being pursued in these fields with this Institute producing around twenty PhDs every year. He was optimistic of an MoU on academic collaboration between CICIR and IoBM in not too distant a future.
