Turnitin software is used to trace the possibility of plagiarism especially in the academic research. It has been observed that most of the academicians are not familiar with the usage of Turnitin software. This Seminar explored various benefits of the Turnitin software to facilitate faculty and professionals in their research. It was purposefully designed to create awareness regarding concept of Plagiarism and usage of Turnitin software in this connection.
The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) organized a Seminar on “Turnitin Usage and Plagiarism” at the Entrepreneurship and Management Excellence Center (EMEC), IoBM on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The scope of the seminar covered topics such as Concept of Plagiarism, How to avoid Plagiarism and the Usage of Turnitin.
Invited as resource persons to this Seminar were Mr. Muneer Ahmed Mirjat, Deputy Director QA Division and Focal Person for Turnitin who participated virtually in this Seminar, Dr. Aftab A. Chandio, a focal person of Anti-Plagiarism Cell and Associate Professor of Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science University of Sindh, Jamshoro and Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Professor and HoD, Computer Science and MIS at College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS), IoBM and Focal Person for Turnitin at IoBM.
Present on this occasion were Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM, Dr. Ejaz Ahmed, Dean CCSIS, IoBM, Prof. Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani, Advisor to President and HoD, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and Office of Graduate Studies (OGS), faculty and management of IoBM. Mr. Muhammad Tariq, Coordinator and Assistant Manager, ORIC-IoBM and Ms. Farah Habib, Research Coordinator, ORIC-IoBM were also present for coordinating this event.
