The Economics Department of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) organized the 4th poster presentation of Pakistani Industries at the Art Gallery of Shahjehan S. Karim Center of Excellence (SSK) on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Students of Analysis of Pakistan’s industry (MAN-408) presented their posters amid the guidance of faculty Ms. Sadia Mansoor, Senior Lecturer, Economics Department, IoBM.
Encouraging blossoming IoBM students in their experiential learning insights and initiatives have always been Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM and Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, AAF, IoBM. Invited to this poster exhibition were Dr. Ejaz Ahmed, Rector IoBM, Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean, CBM and CES, IoBM, HoDs, Deans, faculty and management to inspire young students.
Experiential learning has been formalized at IoBM in all its forms and manifestations by Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean CBM and CES, who personally guides, counsels and participates in academic, student, faculty and research-oriented seminars, workshops, conferences, events and mega events focusing on learning by doing.
At this poster presentation of Pakistani Industries the presence of such distinguished guests as Dr. Mehak Ejaz, Assistant Professor, Economics, SZABIST and Mr. Shahzad Hasan, GM, AlKaram Textiles was a source of inspiration and enlightenment for participating students indeed.
Such innovative projects and exhibits organized and presented by students have been encouraged by faculty of IoBM Economics Department comprising Dr. Shahida Wizarat, Dean CESD and HoD, Economics Department, Dr. Shujaat Abbas, Dr. Ayesha Shaukat, Ch. Sohail Ahmed, Mr. Irfan Lal, Mr. Mirza Aqeel Baig, Mr. Muhammad Ajaz Rasheed, Mr. Muhammad Zubair, Ms. Sadia Mansoor, Ms. Sabeen Anwar and Mr. Zia Ullah.
Students through their colorful and detailed posters presented issues and concerns prevailing in Pakistan’s industrial sector. This experiential learning activity encouraged students to present their research work and gain valuable feedback from faculty to enhance learning by doing.
This is the fourth such poster presentation of Analysis of Pakistan’s industry by students of the Economics Department, IoBM which provides young ideas and insights towards the industrial and economic development of Pakistan. When Pakistan came into being in 1947 it imported goods from India and there was a need to develop the industrial sector. It was imperative for our country to develop such industries that utilize indigenous natural resources in developing manufactured goods in order to strengthen the national economy.
