PEC Accreditation team vists IoBM



A four-member PEC team visited IoBM for re-accreditation of BE Electrical Engineering Batch 2019 onwards. This visit was held on 21 and 22 September 2023

The PEC team comprised of the following members:
i. Prof Dr Noor Muhammad Sheikh, GCU Lahore, Team Leader
ii. Engr Prof Dr Gulistan Raja, UET Taxila
iii. Engr. Prof. Dr. Hyder Abbas Musavi, MUET, SZAB Khairpur
iv. Engr. Hira Arshad, PEC Representative

The PEC Accreditation team was received by HoD Electrical Engineering (EE), IoBM Dr Muhammad Imran Majid, who was accompanied by faculty members. Dr. Majid presented salient features of IoBM, Program Educational Objectives, and key aspects of the BE Electrical Engineering program. This was followed by the introduction of the PEC team and EE Faculty. PEC Team Lead, Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Sheikh, and Rector IoBM, Prof. Dr. Tariq R. Soomro. A meeting also took place between PEC guests, President IoBM, Rector, and HoD Electrical Engineering. Souvenirs were presented to the esteemed guests following this meeting.

Earlier during the visit, the PEC team was given a campus tour of IoBM to show them the facilities laboratories and classrooms. This was followed by a presentation on the program overview and discussion on OBE-based initiative(s) at CES and IoBM. In the second half, the members met with representatives of the Examination, Internship, Treasury, Library, Safety, Sports and Computing Centre.

The PEC team was satisfied with the documentation and was happy with their experience in general. They were adamant that the program not be shelved altogether. Technically, we can expect to achieve Level II albeit with compliance for the 2019 Batch. Overall this was a learning experience for all faculty and lab engineers in further improving the lab and course assessments.
