“It is with the utmost pleasure that I share with you the good news regarding the naming of the flyover at Korangi Crossing, Karachi, as Shahjehan S. Karim Flyover, after our Founder-President.
A request in this regard was forwarded by the Management, on behalf of the Foundation for Higher Education (FHE) and the Board of Governors of IoBM to the Honorable Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh Mr. Fazal-ur-Rehman, who recommended the case that was then approved by the City Council and endorsed by the Mayor.
This honor bestowed on the Founder-President of IoBM, the Late Mr. Shahjehan S. Karim, was in recognition of his exceptional career in the Civil Service of Pakistan, at the national and provincial levels, and his outstanding contribution towards the development of education in the country, particularly Higher Education, in the shape of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), established in 1995.
IoBM has not only played a key role in shaping the careers of its Alumni, over 9,000 of whom now hold positions of eminence in corporate as well as public sector institutions, or manage their own businesses as entrepreneurs and job creators, but it will also continue to benefit countless generations of young people from across the country, in future.
The Shahjehan S. Karim Flyover stands today, as a tribute to the Late Shahjehan S. Karim, and a source of inspiration for those who wish to contribute towards the development of Pakistan, the country he so dearly loved.”
Talib S. Karim
President, IoBM
